Responsibilities: District Commander, Police District 2.

History: Steven Scelfo has served the Fort Lauderdale Police Department since October of 2001. He has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Community Policing Unit, the Administrative Support Division, the Criminal Investigations Division, and the Special Operations Division. He has also served as team leader of the Crisis Negotiation Team and a member of the Tactical Bicycle Platoon.

He was promoted to sergeant in 2006 and served as a patrol sergeant, background investigation’s sergeant, and the economic crimes sergeant. He was then promoted to the rank of lieutenant in 2013 where he served in the Special Operations Division and as a shift commander in the Patrol Division. In 2014, he was promoted to captain and has served as the commander for District 2.
