PSA Denise Melanson
PSA Denise Melanson has shown a great sense of concern and compassion for her job and for the jobs of her fellow Public Service Aides. PSA Melanson has worked tirelessly to help the Public Safety Aide program. PSA Melanson has volunteered numerous hours of her own time to organize and coordinate the Public Safety Aides attendance at various commission meetings and at Home Owners Association meeting. She has spent her own time making the public aware of the Code Amnesty Program.
PSA Melanson was appointed to be a member of the Code Amnesty Committee. She again volunteered countless hours of her own time to help ensure that the program was a success. The Amnesty program raised over 1.3 million dollars in a short period of time. This money saved the Public Safety Aide positions that were to be cut from the 2004 budget.
When there were job reassignments taking place within the City, PSA Melanson was going to be reassigned as a Parking Enforcement Officer. After receiving this notice of change, she continued her diligent efforts with the Code Amnesty Committee. She continued to be a dedicated and dependable employee in the Community Support Division as a PSA, knowing her job description was soon to change.
PSA Melanson is a very committed employee. She cares not only about her career but she also cares about the careers and futures of her fellow employees. PSA Melanson has rallied the spirits of her co-workers and she continues to work hard to be a voice of optimism and hope for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
Public Safety Aide Melanson should be commended for a continuous job well done.
Bruce G. Roberts
