Great Detective Work - Det. Dave Jenkins

January 16, 2003

Great work on our recent cab robberies. The follow-up investigation and subsequent arrest of Zachary Debuono will not only clear a significant number of them, but should result in significant prison time for the offender.

Debuono is being charged with 5 robberies and faces life in prison. At age 18, he would have no doubt gone on to commit an untold number of crimes and the odds are that an innocent victim would have been seriously hurt or killed in the process.

Thank you,
Al Ortenzo
Assistant Chief

Great Detective Work - Det. Jay Smith

Very nice work on the Poohie Yodnauth, Carlos Alvarez ecstasy case. One thousand tabs seized along with significant amount of cocaine and drug money.

Thank you,
Al Ortenzo
Assistant Chief

CIVILIAN EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
JANUARY 2003

MARIANNE WILSON

During the month of March 2002, you were contacted by Department of Justice Special Agent Catherine A. Finley concerning an investigation she was conducting with the F.B.I. Joint Terrorist Task Force. Agent Finley provided you with a list of names and requested you research the subjects through the City database. In your diligent effort, you researched City and County databases discovering that the list of names was actually one person who had used aliases. You were able to link the person to four prowling arrests between 1996 and 2002. In an effort to disguise his identity, the subject had used false names at the time of the arrests. After compiling the information on the suspect, you contacted Special Agent Finely and relayed your finds.

The F.B.I. Joint Terrorist Task Force investigation succeeded with your assistance and thorough research. The information provided to the Department of Justice and the F.B.I. Joint Terrorist Task Force became significant through your identification of a suspicious individual who had been avoiding detection.

You are commended on your thorough research and attention to detail. Congratulations on a job well done!

Bruce G. Roberts
Chief of Police
