The Job List for the City of Fort Lauderdale is updated often. If you see a position for which you would like to apply, be sure to follow these instructions carefully. Incomplete, improper or late applications cannot be accepted. You must submit a separate application for each position for which you wish to be considered.
How to Apply for a Job
- If necessary, download Adobe Reader and install it on your computer
- Download the City's Employment Application [PDF] or save the City's Employment Application [DOC] in Word format to your computer for use in a word processor.
- Go to the Job List to see our current openings.
- Download the job descriptions and supplements, if any.
- If applicable, download a Veteran's Preference Form [PDF]
- When you are ready, APPLY TODAY (follow the on-screen instructions carefully), Civilian positions may be applied for online.
- If you prefer, you can also mail or return in person your completed employment application and forms (applications may not be e-mailed or faxed). The mailing address is:
