Officers Theresa Furrey and Kevin Finn were handling an auto accident in the area of a large street festival. While Finn was dismounted and completing the accident report a drunk wandered up and started making vulgar remarks to Officer Theresa. She soon had enough of this and sent him on his way. A few minutes later he showed up again with two of his friends. They all began again with the vulgar remarks. At this time they were standing like bowling pins with the two friends standing behind and to the side of the first one. Apparently Officer Finns horse, Nocona a 17 hand high painted Racking Horse with legs like tree trunks, took offense at the verbal abuse. Nocona charged the three drunks and head butted the first one knocking him and his two friends flat on their backs, a perfect strike. Finn, who was holding Nocona by the reins, had to hold him back as he started after them while they were on the ground. The three drunks got up and ran away without saying a word. The person who received the traffic ticket for the accident gladly signed it saying it was worth it just to see the horse knock the drunks down. Nocona got an extra scoop of feed that day.
