2003 Fraternal Order of Police Fundraising

FOP #31

Dear Friends and Business Leaders of Fort Lauderdale,

The Fort Lauderdale Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #31 takes pride in being a highly respected local law enforcement organization. The past year has once again produced growth in our professional membership, which now totals over 765 members. Our fight for quality law enforcement and a safe Fort Lauderdale began 40 years ago. Our growth and progress are made possible by the generous participation of many concerned citizens and business leaders, such as yourself.

The Fort Lauderdale Fraternal Order of Police is a very respected voice in the Florida Legislature. Improved drug laws and prison reform increases our effectiveness locally. We are continually working in Tallahassee to obtain stronger law enforcement legislation. Secured pension benefits and a 10-20-Life Bill are just some of our legislative achievements.

Your choice today to support our organization will make it possible to continue our many charitable community projects, such as Federal Little League, YMCA of Broward County, Girl Scouts of Broward County, Stephen R. Booher Memorial, Alzheimer’s Association of Broward County, Kids in Distress, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, Dillard High School Athletics, Cardinal Gibbons Baseball Team, Sunland Park Little League, Women in Distress, South Florida Special Olympics, Leukemia Society of American and Highlands Christian Academy. We are particularly proud of our community based youth activities and athletic programs. Proceeds are also used to benefit our local law enforcement officers in time of need, you and our community.

The Fort Lauderdale F.O.P. # 31, has teamed up with J&G of South Florida, Inc. to assist us with this endeavor. J&G of South Florida is a local company committed to the success of the Fort Lauderdale FOP, and is the only company authorized to conduct our 2002 fundraising campaign. ALL contributions are made payable to and mailed directly to the Fort Lauderdale Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 31. Your donations stay in your community to benefit local charities and assist your local Fort Lauderdale Police Officers. If you have any questions or concerns, I urge you to call me at our F.O.P. office, (954) 561-3555.

Our annual fundraising campaign will culminate in October with a theatrical production at Parker Playhouse.

Though we are a non-profit organization, contributions to F.O.P. 31, are not tax deductible. I trust however, you’ll agree the many challenges we face are worthy of your support. Contributions from concerned citizens, as you, are CRUCIAL in our fight for superior law enforcement and a safe, protected Fort Lauderdale, not to mention our long list of charitable community projects. A copy of the official registration and financial information may be obtained from the division of consumer services by calling toll-free within the State, at 1-800-HELP-FLA. Registration does not imply endorsement approval or recommendation by the State.

On behalf of our entire Fort Lauderdale Police membership, I thank you for your caring and continued support.

Sincerely,

Thomas J. Mangifesta, President
