Much thought and many hours have gone into the creation of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department Website. For our efforts we have had some recognition. We take great pride in the awards we have received and we humbly put them here for you to see. |

On March 2, 2000, we received our first award of the year. The award message read: "your site, Fort Lauderdale Police Department, has been selected to receive our "Red Light Blue Light Award of Merit"!
Judge Martin wrote that we have an outstanding police "website that meets our award criteria!

On December 2, 1999, we received the following message from Augie Caamano of the Hudson County (New Jersey) Sheriff's Office...
"Your site is one of the few law enforcement sites on the WWW that truly communicates to the viewer the great deal of time and effort put into its creation. Its clever use of both graphics and content, made it an easy decision to give it the award."

On August 30, 1999, we were notified that our Mounted Police Webpage was selected as a featured site in StudyWeb as one of the best educational resources on the Web.
StudyWeb is one of the Internet's premier sites for educational resources for students and teachers. Since 1996, StudyWeb's expert reviewers have scoured the Internet to select only the finest sites to be included in StudyWeb's listing of educational links. Each site in StudyWeb includes a detailed review describing its editorial and visual merits.

On May 14, 1999, we received the following e-message:

In May, 1999, our Web site was the SITE OF THE MONTH in the Law Enforcement Internet Intelligence Report. We are very proud of this honor. Our thanks go out to Henry M. Quinlan, Publisher.


On March 4, 1999, FLPD Online received the Webmaster Confidence Award. Presented by World Class Photo Ads, the award is for "getting it just right." We thank Dave Kroll for his confidence.


The Police Guide & Police Collector News Online awarded the FLPD website their Police Guide Award for excellence on February 24, 1999. We are greatful.


The NASSAU COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT, Fifth Precinct, Long Island, New York awarded our site the Fighting Lion Award in January, 1999.


In January, 1999, our site was selected as a featured site on the Web of Justice. It was listed under the "featured sites" link on the main Web of Justice Page and is listed on the Web of Justice site.
Tim Burns, Justice Programs Analyst, said: "This law enforcement site is an excellent example of effective use of the Internet for information dissemination. The site has information on everything from employment and training to press releases, phone numbers, missing persons, community policing, and department information. Very nicely done."

On October 24, 1998, Shryock Communications recognized the FLPD Web site with their "To Protect & To Serve" Award. Shryock Communications recognizes a limited number of law enforcement Web sites each year. We proudly display our certificate here.


We were honored during the week of July 12 - 18, 1998, when we were named as "Site of the Week" by LEO LINKS.


On February 15, 1997, we were awarded the "TOP COP AWARD".

The "Best of the Web Award" has been bestowed on this site. The site was judged in the categories of 1. Attraction and Design, 2. Creativity, 3. Navigational Aids, 4. Legibility, spelling, and grammar, 5. Use of HTML code, and 6. Contribution to the "net"

This site has been awarded the Cops On The Net Award. The award is given by Mack Pettigrew who is located in Ontario, Canada. Thanks Mack!


On February 23, 1997, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department Webmaster appeared on the Cop Net radio talk show. The show's host, Bill Erfurth, talked took calls from people who praised the content and layout of our site. We thank Cop Net for honoring our Web efforts.


The Fort Lauderdale Police Department Website has been featured in the Sun Sentinel and on the NBC6 Evening News and on the NBC6/MSNBC Website.


We have also been awarded the Gold Tin Award.

We are proud to announce that on February 1, 1997, we were awarded the Blue Knight Award for excellence in a law enforcement web site. This citation is awarded by Ron Fleischer of the Windsor (Colorado) Police Department.
