Got Drugs?

Post Date:03/01/2012

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is proud to announce that everyday is now a prescription pill take-back day in the City of Fort Lauderdale.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department has installed a secure collection box for unused, unwanted, or expired prescription medication in the lobby of the Police Department.

This service is available to all residents and visitors in the City of Fort Lauderdale. Anyone can bring their unwanted prescription medicines to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department and drop them off in the secure collection box.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department lobby is open to the public seven (7) days a week from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

With over fifty (50) confirmed deaths in 2010 from prescription pill abuse, in the City of Fort Lauderdale, this pill box initiative is aimed at reducing the amount of prescription medicines finding their way from medicine cabinets onto the streets.
Anyone with questions regarding the pill box can contact the Fort Lauderdale Police Department at 954-828-5700.

The program is anonymous.

Prescription and over the counter solid dosage medications, i.e. tablets and capsules accepted.
